Welcome

New Jersey Death with Dignity is a 501(c)(3) public charity organization providing services, education, and end-of-life advocacy. A major focus of our mission is to facilitate implementation of medical aid in dying by ensuring that patients, providers, and policy makers have clear and unrestricted access to necessary information about the New Jersey medical-aid-in-dying law.

Our Mission:

To provide information, education, and end-of-life advocacy to all residents of New Jersey facing end-of-life decisions, the medical community, and the public.

 Inclusivity Statement:

New Jersey Death with Dignity is committed to educating and providing resources for all people, without regard to race; religion; gender, gender identity, or gender expression; sexual orientation; national origin; disability; age; socioeconomic status; educational background; or beliefs.  People who are terminally ill approach death with an array of diverse perceptions, opinions, and ideas in how they view and face the end of their lives.  We at New Jersey Death with Dignity embrace this diversity and the opportunity to support you in your quest. We acknowledge and honor the fundamental value and dignity of all individuals and value creating an environment that is inclusive of all.

The Medical Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act

The New Jersey law allowing terminally ill, capable adults the option to qualify for a lethal prescription they can self-ingest to hasten their own death in a peaceful and dignified manner at a time of their choosing became effective on August 1, 2019.
